Ise, important place for Japanese people and ancient myth of Japan

2016, May 26th and 27th, G-7 Summit is going to be held in Ise-Shima area, Mie Prefecture in Japan. This Ise area is very important place for the Japanese people, because Ise has Ise Grand Shrine.

Ise Grand Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe, so this shrine is the highest ranked shrine of all shrines in Japan. Ise Grand Shrine (伊勢神宮 Ise Jingū), located in the city of Ise, Mie, Japan, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu. Officially known simply as Jingū (神宮), Ise Jingū is in fact a shrine complex composed of a large number of Shinto shrines centered on two main shrines, Naikū (内宮) and Gekū (外宮).
